I have reported on the Super Sparrow brand previously. If you recall, they provide a well-designed selection of contemporary bottles for you to enjoy both hot and cold drinks on the go.

Let’s be honest, there is nothing worse than feeling dehydrated on a bike ride. You know, when you tap into the sat-nav, only to realise that the nearest fuelling station with over-the-counter food and drinks is miles away.

Super Sparrow

The simple solution is to carry a water bottle with you. Not one of those throwaway  ones, I mean a versatile bottle that keeps your drink hot or cold, whatever your preference. Pull into a lay-by, dip into the pannier and pull out a Super Sparrow. Well, I do, anyway.

Super SparrowLet me tell you why. For starters, these bottles are constructed from eco-friendly materials combined with performance technology, and I have never had an issue with my current model. Now, Super Sparrow has extended its range of stylish high-performance bottles for hot and cold drinks with its To-Go range.

As I say, the brand is already renowned for producing reusable water bottles all of which are eco-friendly, BPA free, odourless, dustproof and leakproof (nothing worse than a leaking water bottle in your top box or pocket, eh), making them both hygienic and practical.

The To-Go model uses the classic 18/8 stainless steel, the same used by most brands. So there are no harmful chemicals, it’s food-safe and durable and, as importantly, the bottles will keep drinks hot for up to 12 hours and cold for 24. The To-Go Series comes with several accessories included as a bundle, so you’ve got a sport cap; two straws; a cleaning rod for the straws; and a neoprene-like sleeve with a bandolier. If the latter confuses you, it did me too at first, because a bandolier is a pocketed belt normally associated with  holding either individual cartridges or belts of ammunition, and usually slung sash-style over the shoulder. The screw-in  top of the To-Go bottle features a metal semi-ring which you can attach to a carabiner or simply use it as a traditional carry handle.

Available in a  a variety of designs, sizes and colours, Super Sparrows retail between £19.99 and £29.99 depending on size. My To-Go is the 350ml/12oz version, in  a rather trendy lemon colour, which is perfect for carrying on the bike, even if the colour doesn’t match.
