What do you reckon to this styling? Love it, I do. Dunno why, there’s just something about it that screams classic styling and everyday riding comfort.
Segura, as you are possibly aware, is a medium-sized river in southeastern Spain with its source in the Sierra de Segura. An interesting choice for a brand name, indeed, and I can tell you a bit about Segura if it is new to you. Founded and run by motorbike fans, the French brand has been operating since 1967, with a mission to provide elegance and technology, performance, design and enjoyment in its ranges. Drawing on half-a-century of master leather craftsmanship, the design teams of today are constantly pushing technical boundaries in order to innovate and offer a unique style.
And so sits the Mamba, which comes with Alpha protectors in key areas, and boasts multiple pockets, a vent system, zipped cuff fastening, waist adjustment and collar extension.
So now what of the choice of name for this jacket? Mamba, of course, is a snake, and a scary one at that. A quick check on Google explains that black mambas live in the savannas and rocky hills of southern and eastern Africa. The continent’s longest venomous snake, they can reach up to 14 feet in length. Terrifying. Oh yes, I also came across a free dating site and chat app of the same name, but we won’t go there.
Anyway, I digress. Back to this particular vintage, urban style jacket, where perfection cuts through it. So into a bit more detailing then. It has adjustable CE elbow protectors; CE shoulder protectors ;and a pocket for a CE back protector. The 100 per cent mesh fixed lining is made from recycled fibres. There are four outside and two inside pockets; forearm pocket; wallet pocket; ventilation system; zipped cuff fastening; waist adjustments; zip and tab with snap on cuffs; and collar extension.
In a snazzy black, orange/red/yellow colourway, I’m not exactly sure why it carries the number 70, but perhaps that has something to do with the brand drawing on its experience in competitions.

Meantime, if you fancy a Mamba jacket, sizing is Small to 4XL and will cost you £269.99.
VERDICT: An all-season, close-fitting waterproof and breathable textile jacket so make sure you get the sizing right. Abrasion and tear resistant, you can whip out the Shelltech Super thermal lining if it’s warm outside, or leave it in to stay snug in colder conditions. Oh, and the complete jacket is CE Approved, not just the armour! Guess what? It’s a five stars from us.
